Conflict Catcher
Follow these intructions if you use Cassady & Greene's Conflict Catcher.
1. Start up your Macintosh normally. DO NOT hold down the shift key to disable extensions.
2. Double click the application 'OSBooster Installer'.
3. Click on the Install button.
4. Read the license agreement and the note about try-before-you-buy software.
5. If you agree with the terms of the license, click 'Accept'. Other wise click 'Decline'.
6. Read the information describing how to set up Conflict Catcher. Read chapter 3 for more information about choosing a minimal extensions set.
7. Quit the installer.
8. Switch to Conflict Catcher (The installer will have launched it for you).
9. Turn off as many extensions and control panels as possible. Conflict Catcher will give you advice as to which extensions are essential for your Macintosh to function. If you want more adice about extensions, please read chapter 3. You need to leave the Appearance control panel turned on as well as ' OSBooster Extension (CC).
10. Give this extension set a start-up key (IMPORTANT !)
11. Re-select your normal extensions set.
12. Restart your Macintosh holding down the key you chose at step 10. You may release the key as soon as you see the MacOS splash screen change to read OSBooster.
13. You should soon see the OSBooster configuration screen. Select the application you want to use with OSBooster and choose a display mode. Now press 'OK'.
14. Your chosen application will now launch. You should now change any settings in that application to take advantage of the additional memory OSBooster has allocated to it. This is especially true for RealPC, SoftWindows and VirtualPC.
15. When you have finished using your accelerated application, quit it as normal. You will return to the OSBooster configuration screen.
16. You can now either choose another application, start up the Finder or press the 'power off' button at the top -right of the OSBooster configuration screen to restart or shut-down your Macintosh.
17. If you now intend to do anything non-trivial with your Macintosh, we strongly recommend restarting your computer.
